Happy Obama Day

Hi Folks,

Well work is progressing on the pilot cartoon I'm doing. For updates, as always, go to angoranapkin.com

I just discovered that this has been posted online. It's an animatic of the storyboard I did for a never completed episode of Ren and Stimpy called Life Sucks back in 2002. Sorry about the crap quality...in a way it's not even worth linking to, since it is so pixelated, but since some folks might not have seen it, here it is.

Basically, we were going for a Mary Blair style of innocence with the Children's Crusade Golden Book which was fun to do....too bad we never got to paint them up properly...oh well, now it's consigned to the scrapheap of history called the internets....

Fun Factoid: The drawing for the scene where the children drown and the camera follows them down to the bottom of the river was about 3 feet by 2 feet in size and took me a couple days to draw...yep, and that's for one storyboard panel...

Did you do the whole board?

Hey Nick!

Great board! Sure would have been a cool episode! But I never liked the screaming Stimpy very much though...

I hope everything goes well with the pilot and all!

Check out the blog of my short if you have time!

Thanks!

Mike: There's some of John's sketches mixed in there, but for the most part it's all my stuff.

David: You're short looks great! I can't wait to see it.

Curly: It didn't get made because we ran out of time and money :(

Hobo: You'll always be Ren to me.

Dominic: Thanks! You're work is great!!!

Marlo: You're tops! :)

Cool. Too bad that it isn't finished, I would have loved it to see it finished.

Too bad it's soooo pixelated! It's even awesomer in 'real life'. I still dig out the board and look at it once in a while and am amazed & envious, Cap'n Cross.

Of ALL the eps not to get made, too bad it was this one! It was really shaping up to be a definitive ep for R&S.
