Animation and music have a symbiotic relationship that goes back to the beginnings of the art form. Aurally/Visual is not an historic overview but a snapshot, a sampler, a look at the past 10 years of blending music, animation and motion graphics. From Joel Trussell’s Heavy Metal Pirates Flash-animated masterpiece War Photographer (Music by Jason Forest) to Steve Woloshen’s Hendrix meets McLaren meets Birth The Curse of the Voodoo Child to Mark Kausler’s retro, hand drawn, hand painted (no digital tools used here) It`s the Cat, Aurally/Visual is an eye-popping mix sure to entertain.

It looks like a really good show, I've seen quite a few of these films and they are all really good...it's quite an honor to be included in this line-up. I wish I could be there for this, but alas I'm living the life of an indentured servant, chained to a desk for 23 out of 24 hours a day.
But don't let the thought of my torture stop you from having a great time at PLATFORM!

Here's a little video clip treat for you illustrating my life at present! Enjoy!

I've got nothin'

I'm bummed out because I didn't post at all during the month of May...I originally had intended to always post at least once a month...alas I've failed. But like everyone else who doesn't post for a while, I have an excuse....I've been busy ha ha.No, really, I have.

I just finished a short music video piece for a show called "Yo Gabba Gabba!" That was a lot of fun to do...I wish I could post it but of course I can't...you'll all just have to wait and watch the show like everyone else....On top of that I'm doing storyboards for two different shows at the moment. One will be finishing up in a month or two (Wayside) And the other is just starting (Yin, Yang Yo!)
Wayside was a really fun show to do boards for. It is really gag-laden and there was a lot of freedom given to the board artists to plus the script. All credit for this miracle goes to the director, Riccardo Durante, a king amongst men.
The other show, Yin Yang Yo! is going into its second season. It is directed by another superstar, Mark Ackland. I did one board for this show on the first season and it's super fun and challenging too. It's very action packed and anime-inspired, something that has always been a bit of a challenge for me to pull off.

So there you have it: excuses, excuses, excuses. And not a single drawing to call my own in the entire post. Sorry.

But, thanks a million to all the wonderful people that have ordered DVD's for the Waif of Persephone! I really appreciate it!

It will be screened at the Platform Animation Festival after all. Not in competition but in a screening of shorts called: 'Aurally Visual' in Portland's Whitsell Auditorium. I'm not sure of the date for that though.

And it will also be shown in competition at the Winnipeg International Film Festival. Which is actually starting today (June 1-9).

Well, back to work.
