Yellow Cake Animatic Finished

Progress is being made!

I have finished the animatic (timed storyboard) for Yellow Cake.
I started storyboarding the film in October of 2006. It started with only a few notes and a general outline; I wrote it as I boarded it. This the way I find is the most creative and interesting way to work; the only down side is that you end up with a lot of scenes that need to be edited out later at the editing stage.

The first edit ended up timing out to a little over 12 minutes and the story was a little convuluted. After going back and cutting and reboarding a few scenes I managed to get it down to its current length: 8 minutes 30 seconds.

I've uploaded a sneak peek at the first minute for you all to have a peek at. (Click image)

Have fun....next step, layout!!!

Yellow Cake

This 'plog' is now two years old. In that time, I have finished one film, "The Waif of Persephone" and started another, "Yellow Cake".

I'm still hoping to have the DVD for Persephone available this month sometime, and I'm also hoping this year it will get a good number of screenings at festivals around the globe.

Also this year, as of now, I am going to start documenting my production of "Yellow Cake".

This film right now is in the writing/storyboarding stage. I'm hoping that it will end up being shorter than my last film which clocked in at 12 minutes and 20 seconds. That much animation takes a long time to do. So, hopefully this new one will time out to around 8 minutes.

I originally had a blog dedicated to "Yellow Cake" but I figure since not much new artwork is going to be created for "The Waif of Persephone" this blog is starting to get a little boring. So anything related to my film productions will be posted here from now on...

So stay tuned, new drawings, art and animation are one the way for 2007!!
