Progress is being made on my "Yellow Cake", I've started preliminary animation.
Since this film is going to have a lot of FX scenes I've decided to animate most of them first to get them out of the way. I'm doing all of these shots directly in Flash, drawing them with my Wacom tablet. Here's a sample of one of the scenes I've got done so far.

Hey Mr. Nick,
I ordered "The Waif..." a bit back and what arrived today was an empty DVD case.
Lovely cover an' all, but a bit of a disappointment... Any chance I could get my hands on the actual disc?
What!? Oh man, sorry about that! I'll definitely send you a DVD...Was there a plastic wrap on the cover?
No problem Nick, and no, there was no plastic wrap, just a cover with the tantalizing illustration on it.
Your tests look great, I am really looking forward to seeing the film. Best of luck with YELLOW CAKE also!
(P.S. feel free to delete my comments here to get your post back on topic and thanks for responding)
Wow Nick! The flames look GREAT! Just like a classic flame job. So nice to see stylized, cartoony effects again...
looking good fella. I await the juice
cool blog yo!
great effect, nick. love those colours too. few weapons are as satisfying and simple as the molotov cocktail.
when's this baby coming out on DVD?
Awesome! Man, you took flash FX to the next level. This looks SWEET. Great colors and timing.
Hey, I saw you ask David Gemmil on his blog about Newgrounds. I would recommend putting films there. They have monthly contests where the viewer choice gets $500. Also, the fanbase is HUGE (albeit 15 year old). I remember animator Adam Phillips got 1.5 million hits on his website the weekend after he put his film up. Just a thought : )
whoa dude!!! awesome fire and smoke. looks great!
Hi Nick,
I relly like your cartoons...Keep doing that job you do with your characters.
Blesses.
Nice!! :)
Did you draw the character in Flash as well? It looks kinda pencil-y? :)
!!! :0 !!!
The smoke & fire drawings are so nice!
