It's All Around You is out

*NEWS FLASH*



Today is the release date for Final Destination 3. Why is this big news? Because one of the extra features was directed by me and my good pal Helder Mendonca. It is an animated short entitled "It's All Around You".


This was a fun project to do since Helder and myself were given a lot of creative freedom by the writer/producer to plus the script, adding gags etc. The short has some great music and sound design which was done by Mike Dubue.



Well, there's not too much more to say about it--just go watch it!

Tea for Two now online.

At last I was finally able to get my hands on a digital file of my first film that was made back in 1999, "Tea for Two". I've put it up on my website now...or you can click here.

This film took me about two months to animate, which I could probably do now in a couple of days, but that's 7 years of experience for you. But this was the film where I taught myself how to animate and it's interesting as a historical document if nothing else.

Okay, there ya go!

Final Look

This is a test image to get a look for the finished film...I've tried adding a small amount of film grain, blurring and transparent layering to give it a 35mm film look.

The experiments continue...

July plog plug

Crazy...

Through some strange string of coincidences, a bunch of different things that I worked on are due to be released this month.

First, on July 18th Ren and Stimpy: The Lost Episodes DVD set will be released. I was credited as the "art director" on the show...what I really did was draw storyboards, layouts, background and character design, as well as designing the opening credits and painting backgrounds.



Next, on July 25th, the Final Destination 3 DVD is to be released. I co-directed (with Helder Mendonca) an animated short entitled, "It's All Around You'', that is going to be included as an extra feature.
And lastly, sometime this month (hopefully), Animation Blast #9 is going to be released. I drew a one-page comic for this issue way back in 2003 starring Hymen, the Surly Panda. Click here for his first appearance.


Well that's about it...unfortunately my film won't be finished for this month but as it stands now I'm hoping to have it all done and ready for release some time before Christmas.
