And here it is, the title card for the film...why have I done a title card when I haven't even finished the production? I'll let you answer that one...
This is based on a great title card from a film noir classic "Angels With Dirty Faces"
It sort of has the ominous and important look that I was going for.

Random thoughts

I think that at some point in the last few weeks I came to the realization that I am about halfway through the production of this film. That means, by my best estimate, I should be nearing completion in a couple of years. The main stumbling block in my progress is the fact that this (like all my films) is being done in my free time. That means that I have to put it aside regularily to do commercial work to pay the bills, mortgage etc. Right now I am working on two different TV series (for two different production companies) which leaves me precious little time for this film.
However, PRODUCTION MUST CONTINUE!

Colour

It's time to add some damn colour to this website. Here's the colour models for the elf characters. These were drawn completely in the computer--which is very rare for me to do. Normally I do my ruff drawings as well as my clean-ups on paper. I use a Wacom tablet to draw digitally, but I find I have less control--I guess it's hard to compete with 33 years of experience drawing on paper.
Anyways, I'm trying to use more "Golden Book" colour theories these days, using more subdued, grayed down tints with a simple accent of bright colour. I find this tends to make everything look a lot more colourful.
